2014 Sorento SX sensor

Can somebody tell me what this sensor is above the mirror on my wife's Sorento? We just bought it a couple days ago and I just noticed it. It appears to be a remote start maybe but as far as I can tell the car does not have one.2014 Sorento SX sensor-0518171746a.jpg

It is a humidity sensor so the automatic climate control knows if windshield defogging is needed. I don't think is is mentioned in the owners manual. Not sure why manual tells how to set controls on the auto system to defog windshield. Seems like it would automatically be taken care of. I don't know how well it works, my vehicle has never been in conditions where it would have been needed.

Thanks for clearing that up. Lots of bells and whistles compared to my 2011 Optima!

Wow...I do not have that with my base model...and in fact....I do not desire all those fancy gadgets that want to take control over me...but anyway, I am admirative of the imagination that leads to these.

Didn't even know it had that feature. Thanks for the reply.

It seems to work pretty well. We are just coming out of a very wet, rather cool week or so. That is the typical condition that causes the windshield to fog up pretty badly. My Sorento kept the windshield fog free without any problem!

Thanks for the info Watnext, Mine works well too, especially with the daily extreme temp difference up here.
