The salesmen told me they use a semi synthetic 5w20 blend, the owners manual only states 5w20, it has to be synthetic in order to go 7,500 before the first oil change.I was thinking of using mobile 1 full synthetic .
I went to a full synthetic as well. It shows in the manual that they use total lubricants. Really any brand will suffice. So head down to Wally world when they have sale and pick some synthetic. But get the Kia filter, just to be on the safe side. Good luck

no it doesn't, as stated in your manual 5w20 as long as it meets their specifications as stated (no where will you find that it specifically states synthetic) then any brand or type of oil can be used. If you wish to use synthetic then its your choice, but the oil changes still have to be done at the requires mileage or time as specified in your owners manual.
