Any reason you copy and pasted this question in 3 different threads at the same time?

"Satbaja": Where you able to replaced the alternator and pulley to resolve rough idle issue? I read an other post mentioning about same thing...to replace the alternator and idler pulley, but have not see any post regarding the result after the replacement.

The ECM update did not resolve the rough idle. The dealer ordered the pulley and alternator. The parts arrived and were installed. Now I have a normal idle.

In my case, the ECM update made things worse. Before the ECM update, I did not have any issue with the rough idle. Now after the update, the rough idle is there all the time, it is very annoying as the car shakes a lot when I stop at a right light with my foot on the brakes. I must put the car in neutral to avoid the shaking.

The ECM update also increase fuel consumption. In my case by about 10%,

The ECM update also make the computer mpg display even more optimistic than before. It used to be about 7-10% optimistic. Now it is about 15-18% optimistic.

Does anyone know if it is possible to revert to the old version?

Posted my first thread in " Engine Stalling at Stops " when it should be in " Rough Idle" Anyway, after 45 days , 1500 kms and after 8th or 9th dealer service visits, Kia replaced the alternator and belt. Although the rough idle did not completely disappear but the idle is very much improved now. Im using it for a week now and still hoping it will disappear totally - like a new car... 2013 Sorento EX (2.4 GDI)

Thanks for your information, satbaja. Now, I have some information to talk to my dealer on it. Do you happen to know the part number for alternator and pulley? It might help.

KIA suggested to replace Alternator Pulley and Tensioner as well as ECM software upgrade. I read a post indicateding that it had fixed the rough idle issue.

"This bulletin provides information related to the ecm software upgrade and alternator pulley replacement for some 2013my Sorento vehicles, produced from February 16, 2012 to September 13, 2012, to improve idle rpm stability ( 750 to 680) while at a stop with A/C on."
