Overall, I have been very pleased about my SX. Previously I had a 2005 Honda Civic for 7+ years and NEVER had any problems. It had 110K and the only thing I ever did to it was put on new brake pads and change the oil and filters. I've been spoiled and expect the same for my SX. I was a bit puzzled on why most dealerships don't have these part/equipment in stock? 1 week for an appointment and 2+ days for a radio swap? At least I was provided with a rental free of charge. The Kia Service Department is my biggest concern. Are you that busy? Why? Should I be concerned on why your service deparment is so busy that it takes a week to get my car in there? SMH
If your dealership sucks, I'd encourage you to let Kia corporate know. If enough people do that, perhaps they'll become "more involved" with that dealer to improve their brand experience. The dealer that sold me my Kia and the closer one where I've been buying my oil filters have both been a pleasure to deal with, but I haven't had any trouble with my car. They seem to get 3-4 stars on dealerrater.com so perhaps I've just managed to find 2 good ones.
Just got my SX back today. Everything works great and no issues. They did leave the old UVO unit in the back seat. Should I just throw it in the trash? Ideas?

I wouldnt just yet, they may want it back still. Im suprised they didnt have to send it back to Kia corporate.
Next time make them aware that you are displeased with there service and wait times and you may go elsewhere. They probably dont care but at least theyll know there not doing it right.
but keep it on context they have sold over 300,000 of this specific model. People tend to post problems, so how many does that actually amount to on this forum?
Well theres probably dozens of complaints posted just in this forum many of which are in many if not all of the vehicles. How many other sorento owners have problems that dont know about this site and dont post them, im sure the number would multiply many times over.
Just saying they have some work to do, just like many other automakers so im not trying to single them out. But it just seems unusual to me to hear so many complaints from people with brand new vehicles. Love my Sorento no complaints but the shifter solenoid is noisy.

If Kia doesn't want it back, take it to a recycle centre.

don't think there would be a recall on something like this, that only effects safety related items (sticking gas cap door, I don't think would qualify) - TSB (technical service bulletin) probably.
My local dealer has been excellent too and been dealing with them for over 5 years and on my second Kia.
The dealer called today and wants it back to send out corporate. Now my factory installed lighting system doesn't work anymore. When it rains it pours! WTF?
