My '11 Sorento is back in the shop today for a 3rd time with this no start issue.
1st time, they replaced the brake switch (I got about 10k miles out of it)
2nd time, replaced battery, which worked fine until the next day and then wouldn't start three other times.
I mentioned the brake switch when I took it in the 2nd time but they checked the battery and it was bad (uh, maybe because I had to keep using the 15 sec hold and start method, thus discharging the battery?). The battery may have fixed the issue for them for a moment, but when it fails the next morning... I'm thinking brake switch.
I mentioned the brake switch again this morning, but was told they already replaced it... well, it could go bad again. From what I've read in other posts - and here as well - brake switch, that's the issue - in Kia's and Hyundai's.
Also, I've got an issue when I start the car the a/c doesn't keep its memory setting. What I mean is that the a/c display shows it's blowing on directly the driver but the air is actually blowing on my feet. Intermittent but strange behavior. Anyway, that's another post...
It will be interesting to see how they fix the no start issue today.
UPDATE: As I suspected - Brake switch needs replaced and it happens to be on Kia's National Backorder list! Nice!
