Yes I agree it is a very nice engine design as is the new TAU 4.6/5.0 V8. But for truth in advertizing purposes here goes. Most of us myself included towed with these things. So you decide from this. If you know about towing (or just plain carrying stuff and people) and what it takes to do it. Those of us that drove/drive Diesels did. HINT here:
High RPM's = LOW MPG
LOW RPM's = Better MPG
LOOK where the 217/260/228/248 is.
With out a dyno there is no way to tell you the full accurate truth of what 260/228/248 will be at 300RPM's. But you do the SIMPLE MATH. 1500-2000 RPMS is allot. Good luck useing the 6000-6300 stuff too.

There is a reason Ford POWERSTROKE was 6.9/7.4 and then now 6.0/6.5
There is a reason Dodge CUMMINS was 5.9 and now 6.2
There is a reason GM has the DURAMAX 6.0/6.5
And Isuzu and others use 3.0/3.9/4.5 Diesel V6's
And the FORD TRIDENT 8.0 V10 is MIA
And the GM VORTEX 7.4 V8 is MIA
And Dodge 8.0/8.2 V10 was MIA except for the VIPER which is now MIA in 2010.
