Default LX vs EX

Hi, I'm still shopping around for a new AWD Sorento but wasn't sure what are the differences between the LX and EX models here in Canada in terms of exterior look and features.
Just want to know if it is worth to get an EX if leather seating is not important to me

Thks.

Take a look at the feature spec sheets on Kia's website

Kia Canada - Features_Specs

If you step up from the LX to the EX, these are the differences:

Additional Features for EX-V6 :
- 18" alloy wheels
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel
- Leather-wrapped gear shift knob
- Leather seats
- 8-way power adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support
- Deluxe door scuff
- Dual zone automatic climate control with ionizer
- Rear cargo cover and luggage net
- Optional sunroof

If you're not a big fan of leather, and don't want a sunroof, stick to the LX

So in terms of external look, there is no difference? Front grills, side molding etc look the same? If the pricing is only a grand or two, I rather go with the EX with leather and sunroof.

Other than the bigger tires (17's vs 18's) and the LX vs the EX badge I didn't notice any differences.

Does anyone think it is unreasonable to have a sunroof installed? When I purchased my LX I didn't think I would mind not having one. Now, I am thinking differently and would like to upgrade.

Is this something the dealership would install or would it be ok to take to to a specialty shop?

It is doable, but requires cutting the roof (of course) so you must be sure it will be well protected from rust. Otherwise, in 2 years you will be mad that you decide to do it. Rust on the roof is the worst thing can happen.

I was going to get Rondo LX thinking I would not need all the "gadgets" EX would come with. Now I find many of them are very helpful.
Do this way - make a list of differences and mark things you will find needed or "nice" to you. And make a decision based on the result. If you find wheels to be the only thing you would like to have - is there a need to pay 2.5k extra? On the other hand - you can get a better deal on EX than LX. (Exactly what happened to me, EX turned out to be cheaper than LX).

PLP, I have done that. I've always had sunroof and leather seats and I love having them. So far, I have not seen the cloth seats in person. I think nowadays, cloth seats are nicer than previous generation vehicles from 10 yrs ago. Once I have a closer look at the LX V6 AWD, I'll be able to make a choice.
Did you know I wasn't even in the market for a Sorento? I was looking at the Sportage but test drove the Sorento and my mind was made up. No more 4 banger. V6 is the way to go.

for sure V6 is better than I4, and I4 is better than I2. And V8 will be better than V6...

Anyway, I find cloth in Rondo to be very dirt potent. Having kids we should have gotten leather... but now it is too late.

Yeah.. I always thought I didn't need leather until I got married and had a kid and got dogs. I still thought no way with leather. Leather does hold up a lot better with kids/dogs though. Much easier to clean...

I retract my information because of lack of Canada specific vehicle knowledge.
