Question anti-theft

If I use the remote and press a second time to lock, the horn will beep once. I think horn indicates alarm is set. Maybe I'm missing something but book is not especially clear on this to me. Also once system is armed there is no flashing led or anything inside the vehicle to indicate that it is active.
While using the key to lock my Sorento does it set the anti theft alarm or not?
I have the LX I-4 FWD.

One way to test it is to sit inside the car while someone locks it with the key from the outside, then open the door from the inside and see if the alarm goes off. Also pressing the key once, even without the horn beeping, will arm the carm (I think giving you the option to press the remote again a 2nd time to hear the car honk is just for your peace of mind.)

Anyone have any additional information on the Sorento's anti-theft device? I can't find any information about it on Kia's website. Is there an alarm?

The owners manual has a very good explanation of the alarm/theft/immobilizer. it's under the heading of Theft-Alarm System

One interesting fact is the doors automatically unlock upon airbag deployment.

Haven't read the entire manual yet but working on it.
