About to roll over 70k on my 2011 EXV6. So far, I still love driving it. Being able to take a corner at 40+ and feel confident isn't something alot of crossover owners can say. If I had my time back, I defiantly would have gone for a 2012+ with the panoramic roof. The Black interior gets kinda dark without the roof.

It's got its quirks, but that comes standard when you buy a first model year vehicle haha

I agree, I would love to have a sunroof. I have an LX though, so no an option for me.

I have about 5k miles on the car right now. For the most part, I love the car. Especially the tight sporty suspension. Here are some minor issues that drive me a little nutty:
- there is an imprint in the passenger dash piece that looks like someone tried to force a license plate into the back of it. I noticed this on a couple other cars in the showroom. I assume it's the airbag frame pressing into the back of it? Not sure.
- when the bass hits a certain frequency both front door cards rattle.
- both sunroof shades open on their own and I have to close them daily.
- my driver seat moves a little bit on the track when I put any pressure on the back of the seat.
- the “random” setting for the ipod resets to non-random every time I shut the car off. This is actually my biggest complaint! Lol
- no album art with the ipod interface – come on, this is 2013. How long have stereo makers been doing ipod interfaces?
- ipod interface - it can take forever to get to a song or artist if you have a lot of them. My Pioneer after market in my last car allowed you to select a letter, which got you to the first letter of the artist or song. That was very helpful.
- the heated steering wheel comes back on when I restart the car if it was on before I shut the car off.
- the headlights seem pointed very low and I have a hard time seeing anything without the high beams on.
- when the car is cold, the first couple shifts from 1st to 2nd slip or clunk.
- brake dust is significant on the front wheels. I came from a Forester that had zero brake dust, so I was spoiled by that. one good thing is that the break dust on the Kia rinses off with a high pressure wash. no need to even wipe.
- this one is my fault because I bought the car with them – the back of my pants rubs on the side steps every time I get out of the car.

Well - Here it is 2 years later and 21K miles. Lets see: Transaxel replaced in recall, wiring. Had a flat tire caused by broken air nut in transmitter for the low tire warning system. Bumper to Bumper warranty - but dealrship wouldnt honor. Dealership Service Department is a waste. - but aren't they all! Hit a guardrail last week on way to work and busted up the front bumper. $1000.00 + damage. Going in for repairs next week.

Having said all that: I still like the vehicle. It still cleans up nice and everything works. Navigation needs updated. Heated seats take quite a while to get warm. But on the whole (except for service dept) it's been a good experiance.

Default 17000 update

Bought the car with 8k miles on it and have driven the heck out of it. EX with GDI...within 5 days of buying, Kia got busted for wrong EPA mileage. If I had known the true mileage when buying, I would have gotten the V6. Overall, love the leather and the driveability. Don't like the gas mileage. I do think the stereo severely lacks bass and the ipod functionality is poor as is the voice command system.
I doubt I would buy a KIA again, due to how we owners have been shafted on gross diminished gas mileage. If they would give us all like free oil changes for life, and GPS upgrades, I would feel better. I looked at trading my EX in for a V6 2012/2013 and I can't get the same amenities in my area...all are cloth and basic...no thanx, Pricing for new model seems to be pushing into luxury territory and sorry Kia, but you aren't there yet.

Hi Scouty,

Sorry you've had an EPA MPG estimate bad experience...but if you're basing a car purchase decision based on EPA estimates try Googling this...

epa mpg class action lawsuits by manufacturer

All manufacturers estimate their MPG higher than it really is...why? Because the EPA only has enough resources to test 15% of new models that come out every year...

Hyundai and Kia are the only companies to admit their mistake and on a voluntary basis to reimburse their buyers..

I do base my distrust on Kia, the car I bought as a 4cyl due to the false gas mileage, along with the great features...as a reason I won't buy another. I have had many cars and none have been off by more than a mile or two...this kia is off by anywhere from 4-6 mpg's. I would have gotten the 6 cylinder if I would have known...I feel lied to with no recourse but to take their pittance of debit/credit and wait till I get 100k miles on it

Relax man...no car gets what is stated. The new Escape is getting absolutely flamed for not getting what it states. You bought a 4 cylinder Mid-Size SUV. Honestly, what did you expect. Get a Hybrid SUV if you want good gas mileage.

You can relax. It's my opinion and my money that I feel was misplaced by a deceitful company who hasn't done nearly enough to compensate us for their failure. Like I said, I would have gotten the V6 if I knew this about the vehicle, vs the GDI 4...now I am stuck with a vehicle that gets 4-6 mpgs less than claimed, real world. Whether other company's vehicles are having issues, is not my concern...and certainly have not come to light like Kia's was...

And p.s., I had a hybrid SUV that got the mileage that was touted, sometimes even better! It was a Mariner...which is the Ford Escape. All the cars I have ever bought, have been just about spot on, so your claim that "others do it" is silly and should be unacceptable to those who own it too.

Your continued arguing with me about my opinion in a thread asking for our opinions is even dumber...

We've had our 2011 Sorento (V6) for a little over two years. We have 26,000 miles on it now. We really were hoping to love this car, but we've been dealing with intermittent stalling issues for two years. We've worked closely with our dealership and had it in the shop for this issue 6-8 times, but because it only happens ever few weeks, its been nearly impossible for the mechanics to know if they fix it until they give us the car back and we drive it for a few weeks.
Other than that issue, we like the design and the drive. It has soo much more power than the mini van we had before.
