After replacing my brake light switch, and adjusting it like 3 or 4 times, & after removing my HID lights :(, & remving my trailer light harness I thought I had fixed everything that was wrong with my SX. Everything from flickering/flashing tail lights to hesitation while giving it gas. Well for about a week I was happy, I had no more problems and then all hell brakes loose again. Tonight as I was driving in to work, as soon as I put my left blinker on I noticed my 3rd brake light was flashing too. I was like wtf!?! I put it in park and got out and everything I mean everything, every light bulb in the back was flashing in unison! It was 10:00 at night, im standing in the middle of the road and I cant believe this is happaning to me...again!

After that everytime I turn on my left blinker, not the right blinker but the left blinker, my car would hesitate to go until the blinker turns off. I dont know what else to do. Ive tried everything. And I dont know if this is related or not but lately ive noticed when I press the brake pedal or turn on the blinkers or hazards I hear something ticking from the center consol.

Sorry to hear about your ongoing woes.

Many folks think that vehicle wiring and electrics is very easy, "want to make a light work, just connect a positive and negative wire and magic you have light", but many of these electrical DIY'ers can be very dangerous and very often this results in electrical wiring setting the whole vehicle ablaze, so best get this type of problem sorted using someone with good electrical knowledge just to be safe.

Hey guys thanks for the help. This morning as i was driving home it was doing it again. When i went home I was pulling apart connectors on the brake switch and left multifunction switch to see for anything unusual but nothing. I feel like Im chasing a mouse. But tonight as im coming to work, I had no problems. My sorento worked like a champ. Everything seems good for now. But im pretty sure it will happan again.

Sorry for the dumb question but what is a IPM?

hey bek.. IPM- instrument panel module.. it gets damaged easily..
controls all the lighting in the sorento including flash rate of your turn signals.. having leds on turn signal without resistors can do this too.. (flashing of other exterior lights)
it happened to me first time putting hids without relay before.. what happened is my L front marker stayed on all the time even when the sorento is off and locked.. it may have shorted.. it cost close to 2,000 cad so little over 1,000 usd i guess

Ok sorry for my last post. I found the IPM. Its a pretty expensive part, how can I know for sure that it could be shorted out? Is there a way to test it or wouldnt I get a check engine light?

Thanks for all the help guys!
