Case: This morning, my first ever "Diagnostic Trouble Code" appears.
Code: P0711
Definition: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Perfm.
Miles: 61k
Visual Inspection: No transmission leak, no loose connections.
Possible Cause: Faulty Temp Sensor.
Solution: Temporary erased, under observation.

I had that same P0711 code last Monday (9/15), Car ran fine except cruise control would disengage soon after engine/transmission got to running temp. Next trip out cruise control would work until things heated up again, MIL was still on. Sensor was replaced and since then no codes or disengaging cruise control. 45K miles.

I would suggest for you to take to the Dealer(from where your vehicle was purchased/warranty) DON'T clear the fault, let them do it. Such occurrence from an intermittent sensor problem would take time to re-appear.

If they suggest for a quick remedy perhaps that is changing the trans fluid. That should be free of charge. If problem persist with the same error they should replace the sensor in the first place. Good luck..

After a week, finally my DTC (P0711) was resolve. Get some argument from the service representative over the warranty, finally the job was done for free.
An original owner is entitled up to 10years/100k powertrain warranty. Otherwise, at 62k, I have to pay 590+ for its parts and labor + tax.:(..
