changed timing belt - checked all coil packs - new plugs - changed injector in
#5 and still have code 305 - engine has slight miss at idle - miss seems to go away while accelerating - no noticable engine noise - just a miss - any ideas?

I had that same code after my TB change. It turned out to be the brittle harness connector. Things get moved around. A coil will effect 2 cylinders. A wire is possible. They can be broken inside and still look like one piece. If it did not have the code before the TB change I doubt it is the ICV. Anything is possible though.

I have a 2003 KIA Sorento with 125,000 miles. I really like the vehicle but recently it set a P305 code and I have not located the source of the problem. I did a timing belt and a major tune up at 100,000.
new spark plug boots and wires
new iridium plus spark plugs. (Iridium and platinum $13.00 ea.)
Thermostat
Water Pump
Ran a BG 44k through the injectors.

The vehicle ran great till it set a P305. Now I checked the compression, 175 - 170; checked the number 5 spark plug wire and it is still good; only one cyl is setting a code so it is not the coil, but I did switch it with another and still #5 ; I removed the upper intake and replaced #5 injector and ohmed out the injector wiring harness, harness checked out good. Still a P305 Any suggestions?

I would give the old stock NGK a try - for whatever reason, these are know to play up on the exotic plugs.

I would use a noid light and check pulses to the injector. Use an ohm meter and ohm the plug wire. It will run around 1/2 scale. Wiggle the wire as you do this as a small break will show up.Spray some brake clean around hose ends that may be loose or cracked. If idle smooths out you have a leak. If you don't have a noid light that will fit try a 12 volt test light and a small gem clip.
