Default Replace Spark Plugs, Here are some photos to share

Last weekend, I replaced my spark plugs on my 2006 Sorento EX. Here are some photos to help give you an idea what to expect. Not too hard but tedious. I was very patient and took my sweet time. Did not have to remove the intake, but had to take the throttle body out. Luckily, I picked up a throttle body gasket from O'reilly at the time I got the spark plugs and it turned out worth it because the old one fell apart. I was surprised how brittle were all the plastic connector plugs on the wiring. I started with the passenger side first and then moved to the Driver side.
Thank you,

Nice pics. Some Mod should rename the post Spark plug photos and move it to the sticky section. Some one is always asking for pics of this procedure. Jmho.

Thank you Archilot for the pics, one day I will use these them as a guide to replace my plugs. Of course after I buy the right tools and parts for this type of job.

Hey everyone,

Need help with 3 questions below.

Do I need to buy special plugs or any brand will do?

What is the correct size of the gap on the spark plug?

Do I need to buy a special spark plug socket to remove the plugs?

Thank you.

Get the same ones that are in it if they are the original ones.
NGK 5464 BKR5EIX-11 are the ones I use in my 03 3.5

Use a socket with an extension.

Most of the Platinum and Iridium plugs come pre-gapped.

Thanks nstoolman1,

Yes the plugs are still original. At 78000 miles right now I figured maybe a good time to change out the plugs and the fuel filter as the Sorento started to vibrate\shake just a tiny bit at idle.

Thank you.
