My 06 Sorento's "check engine" light came on and stayed on. Took it to the dealer this morning. They said code read "mis-fire in cylinder 3". 130k kilometers and original plugs,so dealer says if light comes back on a plug change is in order.I understand its not an easy job.

Also steering rack rubbers are "damp",alt. belt is cracked, and a few other minor things, like the vent on the rear axle keeps sticking shut.
Truck still runs great as always and I still love it. What mileage have you changed plugs at,and what cost?

Here in the States I have changed them at 58,000 mi and I am coming due at 120,000 mi. Cost here at the 2 dealer's around here is anywhere between $13 and $17 a plug. Labor not sure. Not sure what engine you have but if it's the same as my 03 3.5 with a little patience and good mechanical skills you can do it yourself. Be sure to keep the wires in their proper places. Good luck.

i just changed my plugs on our 05 last week, being a retired mechanic i do not like to work on motor vehicles ANY MORE !

but the work i have had done at the butcherous flat rate kia dealers i realy don't want the impact tool monkeys touching my vehicle unless necessary

i changed them at appx 48,000 miles and used NGK plugs, the orignals were champions and were showing leakage between the porcilin and the base

no big deal, wires, brackets, covers, unmounting of the speed control unit, and unmounting of the throdle body, i have done much worse

just a word of caution, before removing plugs blow compressed air down the plug wells if you have an air compressor to blow out any crap that may have fallen down there

plug gaskets don't seal well over crap
