Default Heat/blend door stuck for 2004 Sorento

Does anyone know where to find a diagram to replace the heat/blend door? Last winter I started my sorento, and I heard this crack under the under the console. Since then my heat/ac fan only works on speed 4. Heat only comes out when the vehicle is moving. I talked to my kia service department and they said it sounded like the heat/blend door was stuck open because only 4 will run with that open, and I wouldn't get heat when the vehicle is stopped. I have checked the switch, and blower motor from another kia in a salvage yard. Still had same problem. I am thinking about taking it apart this weekend but not exactly sure what I am looking for, or how much it will cost to replace it. Any ideas?

Thanks

Allot of weird things being told here. Not sure weather you working on the console as you state, this is where the shifter/cup holders/arm rest is between the front bucket seats. Or the dashboard over by and behind the glove box where the Heater-A/C unit is and you should be. Also with out seeing a electrical schematic or just how messed up KIA designed the system the fact that the dealer and you say the blend door and the blower switch have anything to do with eachother is bazzar. The classic thing making a blower have limited fan speeds is a blown resister for the fan. Which is in the box in the airflow to cool it down a bit. And a pop (resister failing or frying) can be misread as a snap or cracking sounds like you said the DOOR made? A door should not break unless your in there and break it by force. Only thing that might happen to a door is it jams if something(pens are nice for that) is let fall into a vent or defrosters and finds its way there. This all is with a manual system. If you have the Auto-Clim then the head unit might have made the snap/crackle/pop when it shorted out and needs to be replaced. Also one more thing. Does it get heat only when you have your foot in the gas and moving and not at stop lights? This is a classic habit for a bad vaccum unit for the door. Foot on gas creates huge vaccum and overcomes the bad unit leaking and you get heat. Foot off gas and at idle is not enough and door closes and maybe the water vlave. If you have a Auto-Clim it is even worse. As low vac will make the head unit not able to open and close the door and the hot water valve. No vac no water circulating no heat.

Since he didn't state in his post if he had an extended warranty or not I was merely trying to promp a little more info out of him. I for one have had fantastic results from using the warranty. I am sorry that you have not.
