Question How to lower/"extract" spare tire

Folx,

I've misplaced the OG - how do I lower the spare tire (got a flat, need to replace) ? There's a hole in the back above the hitch but I can not figure out how to engage the mechanism

Upon more examination it looks I am missing the tire lowering tool - a long round with a wide flat end that is used to lower the tire. I see two locking clamps under the cover in the back but no tool. Is that what is used to lower the thing ? I tried to use the regular L-shaped wrench (which I do have) but there doesn't seem to be a way to lower the tire with it ...

I don't know what year your vehicle is, but on my 2006 Sorento the tool is located in the storage area located in the back of the vehicle under the floorboard area.

Two way to go with this.

1) go to dealer and borrow one off a lot vech and order teh right part that you I guess have lost or never had ior never bothered to look for.
2) go to scrap yard and find a Sorento and get teh one out of teh back of it.
