I have an '04 and the first replacement diode went after less than 2 months. I checked the factory Electrical Manual sections I-1a (p. 80), I-2a (p. 88), M (p. 108) and saw no reason for this diode. I jumped the two pins of the diode receiver socket and everything is fine after many months.

Kia Tech Times #KT2005030313 states the diode was left out of the '03 Electrical Manual but included in '04 (which I have), and, I assume, later ones. Maybe it is the diode that should have been left out of the circuit.

Does the rear dome light work? Our rear lights work when the door opens but the front doesn’t without pushing in the buttons and turning them on. Also the retarded clock used to reset by it's self and has since went out. Do you have these symptoms also?

We picked up our 2007 Sorento Diesal, 2.5L manual,, this week
Neither the dome light in the centre or the rear dome light work
when one opens the car door or back.
We assume it would and did not take any notice of this when test driving, so guess
this is on the list to ask the dealer when we take it for our first service,,so far this is the
only thing we have to ask and we have been driving around town working out what all the etc buttons are for.
So far we are very impressed and feel we have made the right decision.

By domes are you talking about the map lights in the front between the driver/passenger? If so they do not come on with the doors open. By switch they do. Some people have rewired them to come on when the door is opened.

Not the map lights. Just the dome in the center of the car that has 3 buttons. On, Off, Door. How do you wire the map lights to come on. I would like to do that too. Thanks.
