Can anyone give me a tip on how to replace the ignition wires on 2003 kia sorento. I started this project by replacing V/C gaskets. I have air intake off already. I found one coil pack that fell apart while removing hold down bolts. I figured I would replace spark plugs and wires while I am at it. The wires seam to be stuck between a wire harness and gray tube going down back of engine. This is the craziest engine set up I have ever worked on. Next time I think I will take engine out to work on it. The gray tube has coolant in it. Does this tube have to come out of car? What a PITA.
Yeah they are not fun to replace. No u do not have to remove the coolant crossover pipe. What I do is remove the wiper cowling. It's not that bad. Remove wiper arms, then plastic cover, then wiper motor, then the entire metal cowling piece that is held on by a bunch of 10mm bolts.
While you are back there replace the heater hoses too.
+10 on the wiper cowl. With that out of the way you have more access to everything. A mirror helps and labeling the wires before removing them and record where they go. Do not cross them any where or you could get a cross fire.
