Default Amanti intake removal / spark plug replacement

I decided to tackle the project of replacing the plugs on my girlfriend's 06 Amanti. I think I've bitten off more than I can chew. I've started the removal of the intake, actually I'm pretty sure I'm almost finished. Any advice on the easiest way to free up the throttle body area. Do I leave the throttle body connected to the intake? Or remove the throttle body from the intake? I did try downloading the service manual from here:

Kia Global Information System (KGIS)

but, when I click on the manual, nothing happens, I get no manual.

I'm hoping I'll be able to put this thing back together. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Any experienced Kia mechanics in the North Georgia area?

Well if you've already gotten that far I'm sure you'll be fine. I always leave the t-body on the intake (including the coolant lines that attach to the bottom). Once the intake is loose I "swing" it up and towards the drivers side. The hardest part about the whole job (IMO) are the intake braces in the rear. You can't see them, only feel them. Unbolt from the intake but not from the bottom of the brace, this will make the reassembly easier.

Mattybyzf,

I have a 2004 Amanti and thought I'd change my plugs before lunch. Boy was I surprised, this isn't a small job. I would still like to do this myself but am not sure how to start. I don't have a shop manual to refer to. Can you point me in the right direction to get started? Appreciate any advice.

Nelson, I ended up giving up. I couldn't wrestle the intake off of there. I spent a day working on this. It was a big PITA. I can't believe a car manufacturer would design something like this. Good luck if you decide to try it.
