I was wondering if any one else has had this problem. The air bag light comes on? I took it to the dealership and the said they fixed it, two weeks later it was on again. So they repaired it again and as I drove off the lot, the air bag light came on? Now they have engineering involved and have had my vehicle for over three weeks total. I also mentioned the hesitation when we give it gas but they said they couldn't reproduce this problem? Funny to have logged on here to see several consumers have had this problem? Do I have a Lemon due to the air bag situation? Since I am a Product Safety Engineer and have worked for several Nationally Recognized Testing Labs, I am very scheptical about the wiring harness being replaced a second time will fix the problem. I bought this car for the safety features for my wife and new baby! Still waiting to hear from the dealership and I contacted KIA consumer affairs. Anyone else have these problems?

I love problems that no one else can solve. Unfortunately I'm not the one looking at it. Not that it matters (because it's already being investigated) but code did they say it had? Did they replace anything other than the wire harness?

Also, you may want to post in the Amanti forum next time.

Hello KiaMech and thank you. I noticed that after I wrote it and was unable to change the topic to the correct forum? They did not mention a code and now I am asking you, do you know that there is a certain number of air bag modules that are defective? Would the code be on the airbag module or is it a diagnostic code you are looking for? Since I am a product safety engineer and have an extensive background in trouble shooting and ensuring compliance with standards I can assure you that I have seen many manufacturers take actions to correct problems which were questionable and after testing, the same problem was a non compliance issue. Do you think replacing the harness a second time will fix it. Based off of my experience, not likely. They also replaced the air bag module as well as the wiring harness. Again, I love my car and am very satisfied with it outside of this and it always seems that service is a problem no matter the make and model, it comes down to individual dealerships. Enough for this forum I will write more as it applies in the amanti section. Thank you again for your input and I look forward to your reply.

Did I miss something? Is the Amanti a Sorento all of a sudden?

Saw Amanti in the subject and stopped reading, so I didn't see your "oops" statement at the end.

This just in, they ordered a wiring harness for the vehicle and once they got the dashboard apart the "reccomended wiring harness" turns out not to be the same one that is in the vehicle. So how does a manufacturer recommend the wrong part to the dealership when the part for this, lists only one model wiring harness (so I was told)? I'm having fun I tell you and to listen to my wife complain doesn't help either. I don't find it very professional to have to chase them down every time I want to know whats going on. This just screams "LEMON LAW" as I feel this was probably not corrected today and the part issue is just an excuse? Never will know will I! Maybe KIAMECH can shed some light on this and the code on the work order the first time states" 2915 pulled code for drivers air bag resistance high found short in the cable reel. needs cable reel. installed cable reel and test drove no SRS light" that lasted a week then second work order states"3871 pulled code 1346 for drivers air bag. 2nd stage open cannot clear code replaced drivers air bag cleared codes ok at this time. I never even got a tenth of a mile away and the light came on?

I'm sure it is very irritating that they can't fix the problem, and you have every right to complain and to get it fixed properly, BUT ...

Lemon Law? Because the airbag light comes on? Lemon Laws are for people with seriously defective cars that cannot be made to operate properly, not for flaky airbag lights.
