Ok I got the fuel pump out. The fuel filter that the parts store gave me is shape like a 3 to 4 inch cylinder with two female threads on each end. I am just wanting to make sure i am on the same page with you.
OK, So should I dropp the fuel thank and go from there. I followed the fuel line all the way to the injectors and I didnt see no fuel filter at all. I also have a 2000 Kia sportage and it was in the fuel line just before heading upward toward the injectors. I am curious to why the made this so difficult. So the fuel filter should be near or around the fuel sender at or in the fuel tank? What does it look like?
It is an "in-tank filter". It has a "strainer". The actual filter is part of the cylinder plastic unit that holds the pump inside (the "pump inside" is a metal cylinder of about an 2" diameter x 4" long). It is not a replaceable filter, you have to buy the whole plastic cylinder which is not cheap.
