Default Car died 05 Optima

I own an 05 Optima and it is still under warrenty, but my question is twice in the past week when I come to a stop once at a stoplight and once at a stop sign my car just died. It didn't flutter or sputter or anything just the engine stopped. I restarted it and didn't have any problems until the second time it did it again without warning. Also another question my car seems to shift hard when running around 30-40 mph around town like it can't make up it's mind which gear to be in and jerks when shifting. Any thoughts....thanks

And if that does not turn up anything. It is somewhat a classic symptom of a failing ECM. Will stall but restart for a bit. Then stall and be hard to restart for a bit. Then will stop and not restart at all. And need to be towed in. The ECM will also play games with the transmission shift points too if it is checking out slowly. IF the scan does nothing, then keep your eyes peeled for slowly getting worse situation. SO you do not get to the point of towed into shop.
