want to buy 01 optima but has rough idle...

Hey Newb here I test drove an 01 Kia Optima 4cyl. 5spd. yesterday car drove fine with four people in the car it seemed to pull pretty well, 120K miles, recently replaced timing belt, only thing is it has a rough idle. There was no CEL but he claims it comes on and sometimes it stays on and sometimes it stays off. He told me it was an ambient temperature sensor but he didn't seem too sure. I looked up Kia CEL codes and I didn't see anything close to that, any clues? he wants 2K or 1900 for the car, just need a little light shed on this situation, thanks!

its too much money in my opinion but its your money. the idle could be anything. mine was idling like crap a few times. one was a bad coil pack. i could see sparks flying all around in the day light. one was a crank sensor on its way out. could be mass air or simple tuneup. i dont think the idle air sensor can cause that. could be timing skipped a tooth. you gotta be careful with these cars.
