Default Driver's Side Door Lock Problem

Okay, I have a 2003 Kia Optima and the driver's side door lock isn't working properly.

Basically, when I try to unlock the door, from the outside, and pull the latch the lock snaps back to the locked position. I can eventually get the door open by repeatedly trying to unlock it open the door, though.

From the inside, the latch won't even respond if the door gets locked, and I have to get out through the passengers side or roll down the window to try to unlock it from the outside.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a fix for this? Anyone have an idea of how much this would cost to be fixed professionally?

you need a new door latch assembly. the lock is sticking and not unlocking all the way and when you pull the outside latch it realizes it's supposed to be locked and it locks itself. i replaced one on a optima a couple weeks ago and it solved the problem. the 60K warranty covered it.
