Default Need to replace water pump with timing belt?

For a 2004 Optima LX (2.7L V-6 engine), do you need to replace the water pump when you replace the timing belt during the 60K maintenance?

Or can you just do the timing belt separately?

How much do these two repairs cost?

How expensive is the 60K maintainence in general?

I would recommend changing the water pump at the same time as the belt depending on how many miles are on the car. If it has over 100k on the original water pump change it. The timing belt has to come off to get the water pump off anyways. The new belt will add additional strain on the water pump bearing and it may go bad on you. It will cost ALLOT more if you change it later with out the timing belt.

the timing belt is usually 4-5 hours plus the cost of the tensioner and belt. the water pump is usually another half an hour plus the cost of the pump. if you do the water pump and timing belt separately they're gonna charge you for 4-5 hours labor both times so you'd save money by doing them at the same time. the rest of the 60K maintenance takes another 3-4 hours plus the cost of the materials. cost varies with different dealers so you'd have to call your dealer or stop in to see how much they'd charge for the package. the dealer i work for has a set price for timing belts, depending on the engine, and the maintenance packages (6K, 15K, 30K, 45K, 60K, etc). roughly for an entire 60K you'd expect to pay anywhere from $800 to $1200. it just depends on the labor rate of the dealer.

If we're in the US then it would be 60000 Miles, or 60 k (miles)

60000k = 60,000,000
