Default Hello all!

Proud new owners of a 2004 Magentis EX-V6! Seems like a very well put together car. I had a couple of questions:

1. Has any one changed out a fog lamp assembly. I have already ordered a replacement as the OE has been leaking for quite some time and is all yellow inside. Just want a little heads up as to what I can expect as far as re and re experience!

2. Has any one replaced the light bulbs in the shifter console; specifically the (-) shift indicator?

Hey, welcome to the forum, and congrats on the car!

1. I own a 2001 Optima, so I'm not sure how similar our light assemblies are, but on my car, there's just 2 bolts you have to undo on the top, and the rest is held together with little plastic clips. After you take the bolts off you can pull the lamp assembly straight out. Whenever in doubt about these things though, you can always register for free at http://www.kiatechinfo.com and look up the shop manual for your car online.

2. My + and - have never had lights, never knew they were supposed to. Though if they do, I've heard that the shifter is a pain in the ass to take off. Hopefully Tum will post here in a bit (hint hint :P). He's done it before for a mod and should be able to give you a run-down.

...... O RLY?!?!

Anywho, the shifter is actually pretty easy to take off (I figured that out the hard way).

Although, before I go into details, you will need to order the cable assembly from Kia which is about 60 dollars. The cable assembly includes the circuits with the bulbs and that is the only way that Kia can get them. And THAT sucks like a whore in Vegas...

- Tum
