Default 2004 Kia Magentis Driver Door

I have a promblem with my driver door, I can unlock it from the remote but I cant open the door. When I pull the handle all the doors lock. I can not turn the key in the driver side door. I can still get into the car from the passenger side door and the two back doors. When I get into the car i still connot open the driver side door. The car starts and drive like normal.

Sounds like you have a broken part inside the door. I am not familiar with exactly how KIA does it, but in general there are rods or cables going from the inside handle to the lock mechanism (one for lock/unlock, and one for open), and the the outside handle actuates the mechanism directly.

Best guess is the lock/unlock mechanism is jammed from the inside handle. This could cause the key lock to not turn and the electric operator to not work.

You (or your mechanic) will have to pull the interior trim on the door and take a look.

ok i just got my doors fixed and got my car back today for this problem....number one dont wait to long to fix it or the other door will go out too...if you got extended coverage and some of the extra options then it is covered except they will have to break the latch to get in to the car and you will have to pay for that...lame i know!!....now it took them about a week to fix mine so i brought my mom and she bitched them out and they took off $100 out of the 195 it was gonna cost...haha and a free car wash......so find out if its covered and if its not it might cost you $200+ bucks per door....let me know how they treat you hopefully better than me haha

I have the same problem with my Kia Optima 2005.
It's really ennoying getting into the car. I suppose that the actuator is malfunctioning, but my problem is: How do I get a new actuator, and who is going to repair it. I live on the island of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. The main problem is that the door must be open for someone to remove the inside cover. It took me some time (more than a week) to open the door myself and remove the inside door cover. So now I have the cover removed, but when I closed the door, it locked again so I still get into the car from the passenger side. And everytime I want to open the window, I have to plug the sockets into the switches. Is there someone who knows where I can get a new actuator? I'm really hopeless.

Quick check of a few parts web sites shows no results...probably a dealer item.

You will probably have to contact a dealer somewhere in the area and have them ship it to you or your shop.
