Default Problem on short starts

I have an Optima that I bought brand new with 19 miles in 01. (little about the car)
I have had this issue for most of the time I've owned it and thought I would share and get some feed back from other owners.
Sometimes I move the car from the driveway to the street and that is all. The next time I start it up it doesn't want to start at all. I have to jam the gas then baby the gas until it wants to stay running. Then after that no problems. Back to the car I bought oh so long ago.

Let me know if you have had this happen to you or I am the "lucky" one.

Regards
New Guy

Default Mine does this too, mostly when putting gas in the tank though

We may have the same problem. It usually happens when I drive from home to the gas station a block away (cold). Put any amount of gas in the tank then try todrive off.
It won't start until I slam the gas pedal, then I have to keeplthe RPMs high and jerk it into to drive. Once I have driven for just maybe 20 yards it will idle fine. Otherwise it will just die out on me unless I keep the gas on it.
So far, it only seemed to happen when I put gas in after a short and cold drive (not cold outside, cold engine). But it happened when it was warmed up too although right after parking for a bit.
Not sure what the problem is, I've put a few bottles of Chevron in the tank but it didn't seem to help.
I'm wondering if its a vacuum hose somewhere? Why would putting 2-12 gallons in the tank affect its ability to start?
I have a 2001 Optima.
