We checked the voltage again yesterday. It dances between 14.10 and 14.30 while the car is running in park. For the last 3 days, he's had to be jumped every time I want to start him. I put him on a trickle charger a few hours before I have to leave for class, but he still has to be jumped. Then he has to be jumped again when I want to leave class. I've never heard of a balance belt. He's my first car, and nobody taught me anything, so the last 4 years have been a bit of a trial and error process!!

I guess at this point I should probably move my curiosities to a different thread. I wouldn't want folks to get annoyed with somebody not talking about crank sensors anymore in a crank sensor thread!

you must be draining the bat while sitting. stereo or chargers are common causes. id say the constant jump starting is your bigger problem now. with the car off and the battery cable disconnected you can masure for voltage drop. sounds like something is staying on. check the bat voltage right after you stop driving and again a few hours later to see how far it drops. you may want to get a good jumper pack. ive started carrying one in my car recently since im just waiting for my alt to die.
