Request opinion on a used 04' Optima LX

First off, great forum guys. I have been reading it over the past couple of days and I have to say everyone is very helpful.

I am looking to purchase a new used car to replace my gas hog pickup.

I have been presented with what looks like a great deal but I wanted some input from the people that know Kia's.

What I am looking at:

2004 Optima LXV6
42,000 miles on it
I would be the third owner - originally was a fleet car
Clean title

Was hit in the rear and needs a new bumper, 4 hours of work on the quarter panel and repaint.

Purchasing it from a local body shop that has been selling used cars like Kia's and Hyundai's etc that he buys at auction and fixes and sells for like $500 over what he paid plus cost of repairs. (Doing it for about 4 year now, and I went to high school with the guy)

Just drove it briefly to decide if I was interested so they would put it in the shop to fix the repairs. Seemed to drive really nice, will need to drive it again before I make up my mind. My other car is a Buick LeSabre so it's a little smaller then I am used to but I like the looks of it.

Body should be flawless I hope when they get done, new paint on the rear and they are going to repaint the front bumper as well (rock chips etc)

He told me he would give it to me for $8000 - hopefully a better price since we have known each other so long, but it seemed like a good price based on what I have read.

Any input or thoughts would be appreciated.
