Ive posted this question on other forums with no awnser but this forum looks by far more populated than the others.

Ok the Tiburon and the Elantra share the same 4 cyl. transmissions auto and manual. And they share the same V6 Auto tranny. Now ive tried to do research on motor mounts to see if there the same between them but couldnt find anything out other than they share the same trannies. But i would guess they do because thats why these cars Hyundai and kia are aso cheap, because they all share the same components. My question is that if the mounts for the auto elantra (which is basicly a optima which i have) with a V6 is the same for the tiburon gt with a auto (since the trannies and engines are the same) they why couldnt we take the 5 or 6 speed from a tiburon (which i see go for just 600 bucks on ebay) with tranny mounts and bolt it straight up to the elantra/optima. Other than the given things like installing the clutch peddle and other crap that i think is more than worth it for a 6 speed in my optima, it should be fairly easy. If this idea gets shot down does anyone know if any 2.7L optimas overseas have manual trannies? maybe i could just have one shipped over.

Also if anyone has any good links for stuff like this it would be appriciated

Here's my views on some of what you said:

"Ok the Tiburon and the Elantra share the same 4 cyl. transmissions auto and manual. And they share the same V6 Auto tranny. "

There's no V6 in the Elantra model and doubt a V6 auto can be attached without mods. The V6 tran of the Optima will not fit the Spectra's 4 cyl engine.

"Now ive tried to do research on motor mounts to see if there the same between them but couldnt find anything out other than they share the same trannies. But i would guess they do because thats why these cars Hyundai and kia are aso cheap, because they all share the same components."

[b]The Optima until the 2006.5 is based off the Sonata platform. The newest Optima is NOT a clone of the Sonata's platform. Just want to make sure you are aware of this fact. According to Kia, there will be less platform cloning over time although engines and transmissions will be shared among the brands. Hyundai and Kia WERE CHEAP because of somewhat less quality of construction and use of less quality components. At the time Koreans were also making less money working for both companies. All these points have changed with time. Koreans are making good money with unionized factories. The U.S. dollar is down vs. the Korean Won and that has hurt prices coming from Korea -- equates to higher costs and higher retail in the Western world including the U.S.

[i]"My question is that if the mounts for the auto elantra (which is basicly a optima which i have)....

[b]The Kia Optima IS NOT basically a Elantra. Not even close. It is based on the larger Sonata.

[b]Rest of your comments need technical knowledge of a seasoned tech. I would think buying a 2.7L V6 Optima engine overseas with manual is possible but the expense may not be worth it. Good luck with your research.
