Well I was FINALLY able to install the headunit.. bought the wiring harness from bestbuy and well,.. they gave me the wrong one! The bag said KIA 95+, but the connector it totally wrong.. question is: Where can I purchase the RIGHT harness for the headunit?
I re-connected the OEM headunit and left everything else detatched... which I thought would effect anything, but as I was driving home I noticed that I CAN NOT use my turning signal.. is that normal? Let me know... thanks!

Check www.crutchfield.com they should have the correct one. You could of probably saved some $$$ by ordering through crutchfield. I hope this helps you out man. Your turn signals should still be working, check your wires and connections.

nope your turn signals will not work, if you look one of the things you disconnected was the hazard switch. if its not hooked up no go on the turn signals. whats really weird is if you blow the fuse on the dash lights the car will not go into any gear except 3rd and you also wont register any more miles on the odometer. for some strange reason kia linked things together that dont make any sense, why do think i dont have my paddle shift done yet, i dont want to hit the up shift botton and the steering wheel fall off. really sucks that best buy gave you the wrong one, just to let you know i worked for best buy not to long ago and the information that they have on different vehicles is just about the worst and getting updates for anything newish is a joke.

LMAO on the last section of your reply! But yeah, I'm going back tomorrow and try to either, get the REAL harness.. or get my money back. So now I know that it's the HYUNDAI harness 2000-up and NOT the KIA 95 and UP.. also, I've noticed that I WILL need the install kit since the new deck doesn't fit with the OEM arms.

REALLY!!!!! what kind of headunit and by arms you are talking about the angled brackets that hold the factory stereo on, right? is there no holes to screw in the headunit? if you go get the install kit please post pics of what it actually contains that you use, i have been wondering what it consist of seeing as the 3 optimas that i have installed stereos in do not need anything but a screw driver. what i found by looking at the picture on crutchfield is it looks like it gives you a cubby hole if you had the double din stereo, if you had the single din regular size one with the cd compartment under it i dont think it will do you any good, well unless you are putting in a radio from the mid 80's with knobs.

Hmm... well I got a Panasonic MP3/WMA/CD Player, which I got off of craigslist for $40. NEWayz, yes I am talking about the OEM angled brackets. And there are holes on the sides of the headunit, but nothing that can hold the angeled brackets. wierd.. newayz, I could be wrong about the install kit if you've done it WITHOUT it.. please tell me how. I followed the directions that were provided here (the one from crutchfield) but it DID NOT mention ANYTHING about using the OEM brackets.. LET ALONE how time consuming and a PAIN in my rear it would be just to take the center console out!!! LMAO, so again I left it out and you know what.. I had a feeling that you would mention the fact that IF the hazzard button was disconnected that I wouldn't be able to use the turn signal..

NM, it's all good.. the angled brackets worked and I FINALLY got the right harness.. and now the headunit IS installed.. and looks great! SOUNDS fantastic.. MUCH better than the OEM H/U. It kinda sux that I can not hook up my mp3 player.. but atleast now I can STILL play MP3's and WMA's!

BTW, for those who are wondering what the exact model I got it's: Panasonic CQ-DF583U - MP3/WMA - Sirius Ready - MOSFET 50x4
