Thanks for the get back's on my first set of question's. (You know who you are) I wanted to pick up a simple tip so the exhaust is actually noticable. The OEM muffler on my Optima has a strange setup. The tip coming off of the muffler is angled maybe 30 degree's to reach the cut out spot near the bottom of the bumper. They did a good job concealing the muffler and tip entirely that's for sure. Instead of spending $50 roughly on a nice tip and weld job I'm opting for a performance muffler, not an entire exhaust replacement. Not looking for the lawn mower sound either. Something of OEM spec's as far as sound goes. The last thing I want is to draw any unwanted attention to my vehicle. I found another 2nd Gen. Optima owner with a 2.5 inch Magna Flow exhaust system that looked really nice at a decent price too ($200). Any suggestion's on a nice and quiet aftermarket muffler?

Check out Borla or OBX for some decent mufflers. You'd have to have a little bit of the old piping spliced off then have a new piece welded in and then connected to the new muffler. It will be a straighter design over the OEM setup.

Any websites that you would recommend?

if you are just going with a muffler with a tip find one on ebay. a friend of mine bought his for $25 shipped and it was a private label obx, we found that out when the sticker melted off and said obx under it, looked better too.
