Does anyone have any suggestions how to deal with a problematic service dept? Against my better judgement I had my wifes 01 optima towed in after it died. They can't figure out whats wrong with it. They try this and try that and still can't tell me anything. Basically they are guessing at it and charging me $85.00/hr. for their incompetence. They said they checked the fuel and spark, both checked out good. They charged me 1 hour. They removed the timing cover to check the timing, it checked out allright but they charged me 3 hours for it. By the time they get thru hitting and hoping I'll have more in the shop bill than the car is worth. Do I have any rights at all? Is there any legal way for me to avoid getting a major reaming? Thank you for any advice.

Thats a tough situation but it does happen, at a dealership or not. Have you talked to the service manager? Explain this has happened, you've spent this much money for no results, what can be done to resolve it, do they think they can resolve it, it there a regional Kia mech that should be brought in? That's what comes to my mind.
Sorry
