Can I Use Hyundai Sonata Parts On My Magentis?

I've heard I can use Sonata parts on my Magentis.. (ie: Air Conditioner Compressor). When I search for the part, sure enough more often than not the dealers offer a Sonata part. Sounds reasonable to me, but I'm SURE not a mechanic. Anyone have info to share on this?

I dont think they are the same.... I could be wrong though..... I dont hink hayndai (sp) had purchased kia as of yet in 01.. they didnt start using the hayandi parts until 04.5.

Well after some research I've found that the parts are the same with the Sonata and Optima (2001-2004). Can't really explain, but the websites that I found some info are: Sonataspeed.com

hyundi actually bought out kia in 1998 and the optima/magentis is the same platform as the sonata, most of the parts are interchangable, the easy way to find this out is to get the part number for the kia part and call a hyundi dealer and give them the part number, usually they will show the number as a good number, we use this in the dealer all the time if we need a part and do not stock it yet we will call the local hyundi dealer to get the part so we can get the customer back into their car as soon as possible
