Hello, My 01 optima stalls like it is running out of gas. After winding on it for several minutes it will start back but idles rough, pat the gas and it bogs and dies. I have replaced the o2 sensor, MAS and TPS, no luck. I have posted about this before. I'm trying to avoid getting reamed by my dealer. On orders from my wife I have to either get it running or have it stolen. Any ideas are appreciated. THANKS.

Is the check engine light on?

how many miles on it?

any change in results that vary with the temperature?

One test to do would be, when the engine hasn't run for a while (ie it is cold) start it, let it run for only a minute, then take off the exhuast manifold cover, and feel which pipes are hot and cold.

Has it had its mysteriously hidden in the fuel tank next to the fuel pump fuel fiter replaced? A much overlooked part, also could be worth checking the fuel pump and its relay to see whether you have a fuel delivery problem.

Hello, I had it checked out at the garage when it first started acting crazy. The check engine light was on then, the code said mass air, I replaced it ( no change). The fuel pressure checked out good, as well as the voltage and timing. I started it 3 or 4 days ago and it purred like a kitten for about an hour, yesterday it ran for about 5 min then wouldn't hit a lick. The dealer is trying to talk me into a new ecm, $834.00.
Thank you.

Check the fuel pump. If you hear a 'whining' sound then its your fuel pump. The cadilac (spelled wrong) could also be a problem but then its cheaper to replace the entire car.
