I have recently purchased a used 2002 Optima with 48,000 miles. After 1 week the Airbag light came on and has been on for about a week. Is there a way I can reset this without taking it to a dealer?

I would bring it in to the dealer if the airbag light is on because there may be problems with the airbags. The light came on for a reason.

you're kinda stuck taking it to the dealer - even if you find a loose connector, the light doesn't go out necessarily until it's reset... and the airbag computer is different than the standard OBDII computer that runs your transmission etc... where any shop has OBDII tools, they don't usually have specific car airbag system tools.

Good luck!

unless you have my optima, then the airbag lights randomly light up just to Pi** me off.... and stay lit until the day I take it to the dealer.... then it suddenly doesn't feel the need for a week or two... dealership thinks I am nuts btw
