It does run and ride good, but repairs are extremely expensive. I change my oil once a month because I live 120 miles from work (one way). I have never been to the shop (other than oil change) where the charge was under $250. I have over 140,000 miles now but they are all hightway miles. You wait, the sensors will fail and you will experience the pain of high repair costs. This car truly has no resale value so when you go to trade it, you will also bare the pain of extremely low resale value. I hope you have better luck then I have

AMEN!!!! I agree completely!!!! Having owned both Hyundais and my Kia Optima today, I never had any issues that weren't handled well by the dealers that I bought from. I always research the dealer as well as the car before putting cash on the table. My Optima is the best for the money and I am extremely fond of it.

I don't believe the guy's depreciation story one bit. Kelly's Blue Book and Edmunds.com tell a different story. Hyundais and Kias have poor resale values but they are improving. Hyundais and Kias today are not the old crap of yesterdays and I owned a 1986 Hyundai Excel that went over 145,000 when I sold it a neighborhood kid who kept it through college. My 1987 Excel was a big quality improvement over the 1986 and I traded it without a problem for a 1989 Sonata which turned out to be a great ride too for nearly 10 years before going Japanese Toyota for a while. Got the '02 Optima and plan to keep it while I'll buy the Amanti next year. I plan to be a Kia owner for a long time.

A lot of complaints appear for any brand of car. I feel for those who get a lemon no matter what brand.
