I have 71000 miles on my optima (magentis) and the max rating on the timing belts are 30000 miles. BOTH belts can be changed with the motor still in the car, at least the 2.4L 4 cyl, but its not fun...

Wow 88,000 miles (140,000km) is almost double the recommended life for Optima timing belt. Kia literature says 80,000km.
