Default new member....new to kia

first of all hello to everyone

ok so i was introduced to a 02 kia rio today....problem is that the timing belt was broken on it...the person that i got the car from said that 2 mechanics had looked at it and had only recommended swaping a new engine into it...

i dont have any pics yet

i drive a honda prelude as my daily but i hope that this rio changes that idk how soon tho

i wish i had pics...but il try to explain all of the sensors are unpluged the header is loose and rusty...engine has dirty/oil all over it...interior is about 6/10 just needs some stains removed.....and another problem is that the drivers door will not open

ok so i guess my real ? is that how should i approach this problem ...keep in mind that 1. i dont have too much money 2. i like to do things myself

thanks

Where are you located?

Yup, more than likely new/rebuilt/salvage engine swap needed. Whats the resale value of your KIA?

new engine will be way too expensive. Rebuilt might be fine, although still costly.
Used - hard to say in what condition...

If I had time and space, I would fix it myself.
Did you examine head?

If the engine was sitting long, it could get rusty inside, what is the biggest issue.

Update your profile - location, (car?)
