2003 Rio Cinco Fuel Filter Change Help
Hello,
Have been wanting to change out the fuel filter for a bit so I finally broke down and spent the 20 bucks to buy a new on so I can change it this weekend. Anyhow I decided while still at work here to look and see exactly where it is under the car and found a couple of things that confuse me.
On the 2003 Rio Cinco is the filter in our outside the fuel tank? I've found both said about the 2003. I know for certain on the 02 the filter is outside the tank and on the 04 the filter is inside the the tank.
EDIT: Went out to my car in the parking lot and tried to look under the car. Its pretty dirty under there but I'm pretty certain that I found what looks like the fuel filter I purchased (right next to the tank as well) indicating its is indeed outside the fuel tank. END EDIT
Also since this filter is pressureized how difficult is it to change. In another thread on these forums one person said to lift the back seat remove a plate with 4 screws, then unplug the plug for the fuel pump. But.. another poster said to just remove the fuel pump relay from the underbonnet fuse box. I have a couple of questions here. Obviously the fuel pump relay sounds the easiest but where exactly is the underbonnet fuse box? Is that the one on the underside of the driver side dash? Is there a schematic of whats what in there in my manual? Also, to clear the pressure do I need to run the car after unplugging the plug or pulling the relay? If so, about how long?
EDIT: Found the schematic in the manual (page 6-11) however it has two things listed as Fuel Pump. You ave one thats listed as "F/PUMP, 10A" which would obviously be a fuse but there is also another item listed there as "FUEL PUMP" I guess I'll just have to look in there and see what that second one really is. END EDIT
Sorry if these are stupid questions but the cars I've owned in the past were quick and easy 10 minute changes that were right on the underside of the car in plain sight as well as not pressureized.
Thanks in Advance!
