2002 vs. 2002

hey everyone, I am new to Kias and want to get one, but have been looking around and have a few questions:
1. Are there any differences (suspension, durability etc) going from a 2002 to a 2003? I know that the body style is a little different, mainly the front headlights, but what about the mechanicals?

2. Which is the best 1.6L motor that kia made and will iteasily fit in a 2002?

3. Is it possible to put 2003 headlights, front bumper, front fenders etc onto a 2002?

I like the look of the 2003, but don't want to spend the extra money for the newer car if the 2002 is just as good.

I'm personally trying to find a 2003 or 2004 for a project car to replace my 2002 (I like the bodystyle). The engines are the same, just one is a 1.5 and the 03 is a 1.6. Typically, the newer years have the previous bugs worked out.

I don't believe the front clip is interchangable without modification.

fenders, hood, lights, bumper would be needed for sure.. Possibly everything else fits.. I have seen it done for sure. Just I don't know how much more was involved
