Smile Kia Dealer Satisfaction

My 2003 Rio has 90,500 miles on it. My right rear wheel bearing started to go bad. Dealer replaced it under drivetrain warranty. He said bring it back in before I reach 100,000 and he will replace the other side free of charge. He said he couldnt do both sides at the same time as Kia would question that. Now is that a cool dealer or what?!!!!

Thumbs up

Kiamt... You have a good service manager. We have a good dealer now. Was your front bearings ever replaced? You must be the original owner because of the 10/100.

Just that one bearing. Been a good car overall, considering what it cost. Oxygen sensor replaced once. My throwout bearing makes a slight noise. But clutch still works as it should. I know people with American made cars that cost alot more who have had way more problems in way less miles than I have.

Its interesting that you have a clutch issue... My 03 had a rough clutch shaft that was binding. After multiple dealer visits, they replaced the trans, entire clutch and flywheel under warranty at 23k. Now at 59k, the same problems reappeared and they will not warranty (different dealer, original one closed). After inspection, Clutch shaft was relubed and I replaced the OEM clutch with a Sach's aftermarket... Much better. I don't expect to have any more problems. I noticed on other threads that the OEM's are not very good. How bout your timing belt? Replaced it yet? Also, Do you live in a warm state or cold?

They adjusted my clutch pedal 2 times, no problem. Timing belt changed. I live in Kansas. Ice storm one day, warm and sunny the next. I have oil changed at 3000. Trade in value is no good. I plan on driving this car untill it starts to blow smoke. I dont want to get in debt with a new car with the economy going down.

Wow... Its nice to hear about someone not having any problems with the front bearings prior to 90k! It gives me hope with my 03. Just wondered if the climate was a factor... since I live in So. Cal.
