Default 01 KIA RIO somtimes it will crank/start up, somtimes it just turns over...help

Here is my problem. I have a 01 KIA Rio. The car has a starting problem i.e. that sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn’t. There are sometimes I get in my car and it will start right up. Other times I have to sit there and crank and crank. Sometimes I crank for 10 seconds. Sometimes im stuck for 30 minutes. There has recently also been a few times where after it starts the car will die. But mostly it stays on until I turn off the engine. When it does it usually within 10 minutes of starting the car.

Also I notice sometimes I have to step on the gas when it’s starting and about to “catch”. The engine runs good. battery is newwer and starter motor sounds fine.

If someone could give me a list of things it might be, I would really appreciate it. Because of this iv been driving my v8 dodge ram van and can’t afford the gas anymore.

When was the last time you changed the spark plugs and wires?

My wife was complaining of hard starting and difficulty getting the car motivated from a stop. Swapped in new plugs and wires after the others only being on the car about a year and that eliminated both of the issues.

On my Miata a loose ground wire attached to the starter was preventing the car from starting when it had just been run. It started fine when cold.
