Replace parking light

OK so it sounds stupid and i though it would be an easy job. This is my first car and so i want to learn as much about gerenl maintenance as posible and not look like an idiot to a garage.

The Parking light on one side failed so i need to replace it. After poping the hood and removing the cover to the bulbs i was able to get the main buld out, but need to replace the smaller one below it. The manual says to turn it and pull. But after turning both directions i was only able to get it slightly looser and twist the wires to sight i thought they might break.

Am i missing something? Is it plugged in like a screw, or is there just a particular angle that it will pop out, so i just need to twist it till i find that place?

it might be easier for you to just rmove the headlamp assy they are easy to remove and once you got it out it will be easy to replace the burnt out light bulb
