Most likely not the case with any of our forum members, but many people buy small engined cars that were specifically designed for the economy market, and then try to get F1 performance out of their little engine, then complain when it starts to fail under the abuse.
Most cars of all makes will suffer if abused, this is not unique to Kia.

OK let me explain better (as english is not my first language sometimes it´s difficult to write my ideas that are going in spanish)

One clutch failed because of an oil seal.

it wet the clutch disc with oil so they change the oil seal and they pretend I wouldn´t realize of this but here comes the better part:

since the oil seal failed I thought this is not my fault to have this damaged clutch so I complained complained complained and used a lot of inappropriate language (the kind ron1004 banned in my post the other day) with the techs and the general manager and the general manager boss too.
So I went to the BBB for Nth time and they called them and they discussed with me that they would change the clutch kit/set under warranty too

So I thought everything would be OK...I will have a new oil seal along with a new clutch disc, cover assy clutch (pressure plate) and the release bearing....so I was happy.

What I wouldn´t know is this m**********ers had rebuilt the clutch and their intention was to make me believe they had changed all the clutch set under warranty...later I discovered their lies

I remember this was on november 2006 and I had around 32,000 Km on that clutch.

well I said to myself it´s OK I can drive my car again....then in may 2007 the clutch went bad again and I was furious to them...."can you explain me how a clutch can go bad in 6 months and 15,000 Km?" "How?" "How?"
that was my question to him and he said

"calm down Mr. ******** We will make an special discount on your new clutch set and we will cover the warranty for the release bearing clutch because we already checked that part and the warranty is valid for that part which means you won´t have to pay for it just the pressure plate and the disc and we also won´t charge you the labor"

"how much is it?" - I said

"it´s about $ 100" - he said

"OK, I have no alternative, do it" - I said

Now, how the heck I found they lied about the clutch?

because I entered to Kia Global Service Way or kia-hotline website and I entered the vin of my car and voilà!!!!

TONS and TONS of precious information about my car and warranties too

let´s look for the parts they have changed to my car" - I said to myself...

to my disappointment I didn´t see any clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing

"so I have put together a jigsaw puzzle said to myself !!!!!!

this bunch of liers told me they changed the clutch but they didn´t instead they rebuild the clutch (there are many places that rebuild disc clutches here in this country) and that´s the reason why it failed so soon!!!! besides they didn´t want me around them when they were doing this job
they even get me out of the garage with a security guard because it was for my own safety (my own safety?)"

Besides they didn´t show me any parts changed to my car that time and when I asked for them they told me they had been packed already along with the oil seal for sending them to korea...."OK" - I said!

Then after comparing the warranties I told to myself:

Ecole!!! this is the true of all this!!!

LIERS!!!! they´re just a bunch of liers!!!! they were cheating in front of me all this time!!!!

Oh but there´s even more here....wait a sec!! didn´t I put a post here in this forum where I was happy thinking I had a new engine?
yes there is a post here from February/2007:

http://www.kia-forums.com/1g-2g-2001...-my-lemon.html

well I never got a new engine...

they told me they had changed the engine under warranty but they didn´t
they just replaced the short block as the kia warranty list says...but they made me believe I was getting a new engine maybe they don´t want to see me in their garage anymore but even today I will go to their place to make valid the warranty for my left driveshaft and my power steering pump that has gone bad again

back again!

this car it´s a never ending problem and that´s the reason I bought back my old and reliable avella delta (B5 non interference mazda designed engine for ford and kia)

I don´t advice anyone to trust kia techs, even the techs and engineers that come from korea are very close-minded...just remembering the last guy that came makes me sick! he was like crazy telling me he should have brought his camera for taking pictures I was able to access kia gsw and he was treating me like a 5 year old kid telling me I must not access again their site.

I said to myself: this guy thinks I´m an idiot thanks to that site I now Know the BRUTAL TRUTH about my car...it´s a lemon and they should have changed it from the very begining

Oh this anger I feel! sometimes I´d like to kill them!

lorolia,

It sounds like your countries legal system has no teeth and rouges like your local Kia dealership know this and are taking advantage of it at your expense.

I believe you'd have enjoyed a more acceptable solution to the problems had it been in a place like the US, where ethics and fear of the law would curtail such blatant abuse that you encountered.

I'm more surprised that the Korean tech's did not commit to resolving the problems, as this is not in-line with my experiences with Kia Korea and Koreans in general.

Yeah I fall under this statement minus the end of your statement. I realize the parts I break due to modifications. The only parts replaced underwarrety due to the vehicle itself was a vacuum hose off the throttle body that had a small cut in it and the vehicle speed sensor. The wheel speed sensor was supossed to be replaced but they replace the wrong one.

Other then that I have replaced the exhaust manifold with the cutsom log manifold for the turbo, the exhaust has been changed, 4 clutches have been installed. The OEM was replaced when I decided to go turbo, my first aftermarket clutch from KFX exploded, my 3rd clutch from clutchnet was a little to aggressive for the flywheel and the newest is a carbon fibre clutch which will hopefully be a happy median between ultimate holding and less flywheel wear. I have also replaced the OEM pistons due to a slight smashing of the # 3 piston. Replaced a turbo due to faulty bearings. Replaced the second set of after market pistons due to a minor 0.012" mis calculation uin the head gasket. Crank and rods have also been replaced with aftermarket units.

The Rio is a great platform for modification , minus the lack of aftermarket, lack of flow through the stock cylinder head with stock cams installed and the solid rear axle. Most Mazda B6 internals interchange with minor work. Currently a Mazda Speed LSD if being fitted into a Rio transmission. Suspension wise just some eibach springs and some sway bar upgrades and you are good to go.

Though the last part of your comment I find the problem is more people blaming Kia for the owners stupidity seems to be the larger problem.. I am at my local dealership a fair bit just hanging out and talking to the service manager and a few of the salesmen and they say the same thing. The warn customers about timing belt issues and such but the customers would rather gamble with $2K+ then part with $400 to replace the belt. I have not seen many issues with the OEM clutches though they seem hit or miss when you talk to people in the forums, caulk one up for not being able to drive 5 spd or like lorolia who have had leaking rear mains cause the clutch to become coated in oil prematurly burning out the clutch.
