The oil cap might not be tight. PCV hose may have a cut in it and it is blowing oil under the engine cover. Could have a valve cover gasket issue.. I'd check the first 2 first.

Its a valve cover gasket. I have never replaced one an a kia but it should be straight forward. The oil is leaking onto the boot and destroying the rubber causing the ignition voltage to "leak".

it was the head gasket, i called Kia and they said it was under warrenty because it had been replaced last april for the exact same problem and is still covered under warrenty, recommended that the cylider be redone for $250 while they were doing it, worthit tom me. Now if I can just get my ignition problem figured out.

Sometimes when I try to start it you have to turn the ignition on and off several times before the fuel pump kicks on and starts it, at the kia dealership they said it was probably the fuel pump which I knew wasn't the problem because I just replaced it. Any ideas anyone?

What do you mean by cylinder being redone?
IF the head gasket was replaced last April, the head should have been checked for warp at that time and IMHO should be covered under warranty also.

As for the ignitiion problem you may want to check thefuel pump ground wire that I would think should be located from the fuel pump in the tank to the frame.

I bought the car from a carlot who got it from the lady who had the gasket replaced. So you are saying even though the head wasn't done and they only replaced the gasked it was done wrong and should be replaced and covered under the warrenty?

How many miles are on the engine since the head gasket was istalled?
Was the repair work done at the same place that you bought the car from?

It could be that the lady had the repair done as cheap as possibly, then traded the car off. Yes I would think the Kia tech should have checked the head to make sure it was not warped and if it was warped and did not get it shaved to correct the problem the head gasket would again fail. I am assuming that by redoing the head they mean machining the head to block surface and grinding the valves. There is a reason why head gasket failed in such a short period of time. IMHO if they are covering the head gasket work under warranty cause of gasket failure should be also. Just my opinion.

the car had 46372 miles when I dropped it off at the dealer which is George Gee. I thought about her getting it done as cheaply as possible, I am going to call the carlot I purchased it from which is different from the one that did the owrk and see if I can have them have the lady contact me.

I would think the tech would be obligated to fix it right the first time but that is in a pwerfect world. I am going to get a legal perspective tomorrow. Yes they are getting it machined. It's not a big deal, but if it should be covered due to thier neglect then so be it.
