What is the code for the check engine light there are about 500 differant codes that can be read when the check engine light is on.. Did the light come on after you filled up gas.. If so chances are you didn't tighten the cap enough. Or it could be a fuel evapourator issue.. But can't say for sure with out the proper code.

Sorry didn't notice the code in the title.. Yeah it is a fuel evap malfunction code.. Here is the info :
The evaporative system reduces hydro carbon emission by trapping fuel tank vapors until they can be burned as part of the incoming fuel charge. Evaporating fuel is stored in a charcoal canister until it can be flushed into the intake manifold. The evaporative control system is made up of the following components:1) Fuel tank that can be completely sealed from outside air, 2) Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor or Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS), 3) Fuel/vapor separator that only allows vapor to enter the canister, 4) Canister Close valve (CCV) that seals the canister from the outside air, 5) Canister filled with activated charcoal granules, 6) Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV). In normal operation, the purge control valve opens and closes, depending on throttle angle and intake manifold vacuum. When it opens, fuel vapors are flushed from the canister and drawn into the intake manifold. To avoid a vacuum build-up in the canister, the CCV is normally held open to allow fresh air to replace the vapors drawn into the intake manifold. During the evaporative emission system self-test, the CCV is closed along with the PCSV to seal off the system from the atmosphere.
If the signal below threshold value, the ECM judged this as a fault and DTC is set.

Fuel Evap Purge Solenoid Testing -
1.Disconnect vacuum hoses from EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
2.Verify that no air flows through valve.

3.Disconnect valve connector and apply 12 volt battery voltage as shown in figure.
4.Verify that air flows through valve.
5.If no air flows, replace the valve.
6.Reinstall valve connector.
7.Reconnect vacuum hoses.

Cannister Close Valve Testing -

1.Measure canister close valve resistance.
Resistance:Approximately 24Ω ± 1.5 at 68°F(20°C)
2.If not as specified, replace the canister close valve.
