Question 2001 Kia Rio fuel pump issues....

Ok, quick question. 2001 Kia Rio. At times the fuel pump does not kick on when the ignition key is turned on. The fuel pump will eventually come on after cycling the ignition anywhere from 3-8 times. We've already replaced the fuel pump relay. Is it definitely a fuel pump problem or is there any other component that may be keeping the fuel pump from starting? TIA and hope my question is clear. And if the fuel pump, how bad is it to replace on these cars?

Check to make sure the wire to the pump is connected properly (lose) and that it is not crowded or cut. anywheres.
Make sure it is grounded well to the frame

did you ever figure out your problem? I have the exact same problem with my 01 rio. I changed the fuel pump and did not fix the problem, very frusterating and getting worse.
thanks, Dennis
