Default 2001 Rio w/o Tachometer

Does anyone know if I can add a replacement gauge cluster to my Rio with a tachometer option, the car does not have a tach today.

If I change the cluster will the odometer mileage follow the cluster or is it stored in the main computer of the car?

Thanks for any help.

I don't know if the Rio cluster is like the Sephia cluster but I was able to buy a cluster off Ebay ($20), remove my speedo with the odometer, install it in the Ebayed cluster w/tach and reinstalled cluster. took all of 15 minutes. So now my cluster has a tach and my mileage stayed the same.
Hope this helps.

I bought a speedometer with tach for my 01 rio, and mileage changed. Mileage information is stored on the speedometer itself on the rio.
